Pianos fall into two broad categories

Acoustic Digital
Sound is produced as keys are depressed, and hammers hit strings, transferring vibrations to the soundboard, which amplifies the sound.  The longer the strings, and the larger the area of the soundboard, the richer and louder will be the sound. A digital piano produces a digital recording of an expensive grand piano as keys are depressed.  Some advantages of digital pianos are that they never need tuning, they can be played with headphones, and they are much easier to move than acoustic pianos.

The different types of acoustic pianos are:

Spinet 36" - 37" tall Baldwin Spinet Piano
Console 42" - 43" tall Kawai 607 Designer Console Upright Piano | Kawai Designer Series
